Last Thursday supermarkets we were given an initial list of 110,000 clinically vulnerable and isolated people by the Government. From this list they will be matching existing customer accounts and will let them know they are making home delivery slots available to them immediately. They will continue to work through this list, and, as they receive more data from the Government, will make even more slots available. The shielded group will also be able to register new accounts and receive priority slots the same as existing customers.
Volunteers (prepaid cards) - a number of supermarkets are offering prepaid cards for volunteers shopping on behalf of residents whom are shielded or self-isolating. The person can buy a voucher and send a copy to the volunteer who will use it to pay for the shopping:
High Street Vouchers are also offering online shopping vouchers for other supermarkets.
