Help Fight Breast Cancer: Recycle Your Bras at Wendover’s Clock Tower

Wendover residents now have an incredible opportunity to make a positive impact in the fight against breast cancer. The Clock Tower in Wendover is a designated collection point for the Against Breast Cancer Bra Recycling Scheme, a program that turns your unwanted or unloved bras into funding for breast cancer research. Not only does this initiative help fund crucial research, but it also prevents bras from ending up in landfills by giving them a new lease of life.

How Does Bra Recycling Work?

The bra recycling scheme is a win-win for both the environment and breast cancer research. Here’s how it works:

- Donate Unwanted Bras: Simply bring your unwanted bras to the Clock Tower between 9:30am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Ring the doorbell, and you can drop your bras into the collection bank. Whether they are gently used or beyond repair, your donations will make a difference.

- Prevent Bras From Going to Landfill: Together with their recycling partners, the Against Breast Cancer scheme prevents thousands of bras from ending up in landfills. Instead, they are either recycled or reused. Bras in good condition are given a new lease of life, helping to provide employment and income for people in the UK and abroad.

- Support Pioneering Research: For every tonne of bras collected, Against Breast Cancer receives £700 to fund their groundbreaking research. This money goes towards developing better treatments and ultimately finding a cure. With over 30 million women in the UK, the potential to make a significant difference is huge!

- Eco-friendly Disposal: Any bras that are too worn to be reused are responsibly dismantled and disposed of, ensuring that even those beyond redemption don’t harm the environment.

How You Can Help

If you have bras that no longer fit or that you don’t wear anymore, why not bring them to the Clock Tower in Wendover and donate them to this great cause? Every donation helps, and with a simple drop-off, you could be supporting life-saving research and reducing waste.
