FW: Advanced Works Notices - Rocky Lane, Wendover Bypass & Abnormal Loads

A message from EKFB:

Please find attached our latest advanced works notices advising of forthcoming works in the Great Missenden and Wendover area that will have an impact on the road network. I have also attached a copy of our latest newsletter where you can find the latest news and updates on the project in the Great Missenden and Wendover area.

The attached notices provide advance warning of the following road impacts:

  • A full closure of Rocky Lane from 27th February to 3rd March. The road will be closed 24 hours a day between these dates to complete a water main utility connection to our compound. We do not know what the water main is made of, if we discover asbestos we will stop work, reinstate the road and open it up again while we obtain an asbestos work permit from Thames Water – this cannot be issued to us in advance.

  • Layby and lane closures on the Wendover bypass to install a high voltage cable across the road to our concrete batching plant. As there will be an open excavation in the road the lane closures and traffic lights will be in operational for 24 hours a day until these works are complete.

  • The start of our abnormal load deliveries of steel and concrete for the Wendover Dean Viaduct and other structures in the area. Deliveries will take place out of hours to reduce the impact on the road network, please see the attached notice for route details from the M40 Junction 1.

Further information on these works are contained within the attached notices.

As the project progresses there will be further road and lane closures in the area, more information will be provided in due course once the planning of these works have been completed and consent to impact the road network has been granted. To stay informed of our works and to keep up to date with any impacts to local roads don’t forget to register for email updates on the HS2 website which gives you a choice of how you would like to receive information from us.
