A message from EKFB:
Please find attached an advanced works notice advising of a full closure of Rocky Lane from 13th to 17th February, the road will be closed for 24 hours a day during these works.
From Monday 13th February, Rocky Lane will be full closed for a period of 5 days to install a connection to the water main which is located in the centre of road. As the works require us to have an open excavation we can only undertake these works under a full closure. Further details are contained in the attached document.
The asset owner has been unable to inform us as to what material the pipe is made out of, should we discover asbestos we will have to backfill the excavation and return at a later date. To work on an a pipe containing asbestos we are required to obtain a permit which cannot be issued until it has been confirmed that asbestos is present. If this turns out to be the case the road will only be closed for a day or two and we will provide a further updates on future closure plans.
There will be further road and lane closures in the area through February and March, more information will be provided in due course once the planning of these works have been completed.
