Advanced Works Notice - Christmas/New Year Overnight Closures A413 London Road

A message from EKFB:

Please find the above attached a notice advising of our forthcoming works taking place adjacent to the A413 London Road over the Christmas and New Year period.

In advance of the construction of the Small Dean Viaduct we are required to carry out extensive excavation works between the A413 London Road and the Chiltern Rail line close to the Small Dean roundabout. In order to complete these works and to remove the excavated material into our compound we will need to install traffic management during the day and overnight in different set-ups. During the day (7am to 7pm) we will install manually controlled traffic lights to enable our large articulated dump trucks to remove excavated material, there will not be a lane closure in place so this will allow us to clear traffic and reduce any potential congestion. Overnight (7pm to 7am) we will be implementing a full road closure. The full schedule of closure is as follows:

• 25 December – 1am – 7am - A413 London Road FULL CLOSURE • 25 – 29 December - 7pm – 7am A413 London Road FULL CLOSURE • 1 January - 1am – 7am A413 London Road FULL CLOSURE • 1 January - 3 January - 7pm – 7am A413 London Road FULL CLOSURE • Daytime temporary traffic lights throughout this period (7am – 7pm)

Please be aware that the blue light services will have full access through the works at all times.

The reason we are undertaking these works through the Christmas and New Year period is because to complete these works we need a closure of the Chiltern Rail line. The only time Network Rail will permit us to close the rail line is either in the Christmas and Easter holiday periods or overnight on Saturdays. By closing the line at Christmas we will have over 150 hours to complete these works, to undertake the works on Saturday nights only would take around 20-25 overnight closures. If you wish to use the Chiltern Rail line over the Christmas and New Year period please refer to the rail operator for service and replacement bus service information.

Full details of the works are included in the above attached advanced works notice, we have also included a QR code which if you scan will give more information on this closure. If you have friends and family visiting the area over the Christmas and New Year period we would urge you to share this information with them.

Our Mobile Visitor Centre will be in Wendover Town Centre on Manor Waste outside Budgens on 14th December between 10am and 3pm, please feel free to come down and speak to us about our works,
