Wendover has once again been entered into the Buckinghamshire Best Kept Village Competition - and we’re encouraging everyone in the community to get involved and help make our village shine.

Judging will take place from 1 June to 14 July, with judges looking at the overall appearance of the village, including cleanliness, community pride, and how well public and private spaces are cared for.

This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate everything that makes Wendover such a special place to live, work, and visit.

How You Can Help

Small actions from lots of people can make a huge difference. Residents, businesses, schools, and community groups can all play a part by:

  • Keeping front gardens tidy and blooming

  • Sweeping paths and keeping verges clear

  • Picking up litter and helping keep streets clean

  • Always cleaning up after dogs

  • Tidying shopfronts and business displays

  • Taking pride in properties and shared spaces

Whether it’s planting flowers, trimming hedges, litter picking, or simply helping a neighbour, every effort contributes to making Wendover look its best.

Community Spirit Matters

The Best Kept Village competition is not just about appearances - it’s about community spirit and pride in where we live. Wendover has enjoyed success in the competition before, thanks to the efforts of residents, volunteers, local businesses, and organisations working together.

We would love to see the whole community come together again this year to showcase everything that makes Wendover welcoming, vibrant, and cared for.

Let’s Make Wendover Shine

Thank you to everyone who already helps keep our village beautiful throughout the year. With a collective effort, we can make a real difference during the judging period and continue to make Wendover a place we are all proud of.
