Highlights from Wendover Parish Council’s Annual Parish Meeting

Wendover Parish Council was delighted to welcome residents, businesses and community groups to this year’s Annual Parish Meeting – an evening focused on celebrating local achievements, sharing updates and looking ahead to the future of Wendover.

The event brought together members of the community for an engaging and informative evening, showcasing the positive work taking place across the parish and recognising those who make Wendover such a special place to live, work and visit.

Guest Speaker and Business Networking

We were pleased to welcome Philippa Batting MBE from Buckinghamshire Business First as our guest speaker. Philippa shared valuable insights into the importance of supporting local businesses and the role they play in helping towns like Wendover thrive.

The evening also included a Wendover Business Networking Event, giving local businesses the opportunity to connect, share ideas and strengthen relationships within the local business community.

Community Showcase

A range of local organisations and community groups hosted stands during the evening, giving residents the chance to learn more about the services, activities and opportunities available in Wendover.

Thank you to all those who took part and helped make the Community Showcase such a success.

Special Guests and Thanks

We were also delighted to welcome Greg Smith MP to the event and appreciate his continued support for Wendover and the wider community.

Thank you to everyone who attended, as well as our Councillors and staff team, whose support and hard work helped make the evening possible.

Little Acorns Kindergarten Donation

As part of the evening, Wendover Parish Council was pleased to present Little Acorns Kindergarten with a cheque from funds raised through the 2025 Wendover Christmas Market donation.

A total of £273.10 was generously donated by the food vendors who attended the market, alongside a further £241.30 raised by Little Acorns Kindergarten through their own Christmas stall at the event.

These funds will help support the fantastic work Little Acorns Kindergarten does for local children and families in our community.

Wendover Community Awards 2026

The evening also featured the presentation of the Wendover Community Awards, recognising individuals, businesses and organisations who have made an outstanding contribution to our community.

This year’s winners were:

• Business of the Year – The Village Midwife

• Service With a Smile – Bread and Brew

• Volunteer of the Year – Paul Skinner

• Environmental Champion – CLAW

• Lifetime Achievement Award – Pat Riley-Page

• Special Recognition Award – BML Fitness Studio

• Wendover Parish Council Award – David Cobb
