Summary of the Role

Each Monday, the Monday Club Café opens its doors to local residents living with dementia looking for companionship, conversation, and a warm, welcoming environment. To help them attend, we rely on a team of kind and reliable volunteer drivers who offer lifts to and from the café. We are currently looking for more volunteers to join this valued service and make a difference to someone’s Monday.

What We Offer

As a volunteer driver, you’ll be offering far more than just transport - you’ll be providing a friendly face, a regular presence, and a vital connection to the wider community. We offer full support, including a short induction and training, a well-organised rota tailored to your availability, and ongoing contact with our friendly administrator. Most drivers are paired with the same visitor each time, helping to build a relationship and routine.

What We Are Looking For

We’re looking for caring, responsible volunteers who are happy to drive one or more café visitors to and from their homes on Mondays. You don’t need to commit every week - we’ll work around your schedule. Visitors live across the Westongrove GP Partnership area, including Wendover, Aston Clinton, Weston Turville, Bedgrove, Stoke Mandeville, The Lee, and Dunsmore. Some may use mobility aids or wheelchairs; just let us know what you’re comfortable with and we’ll match you accordingly. If you enjoy helping others and have a little time to spare, we’d love to hear from you.

How To Apply

Whether you’re just curious or ready to get started, we’d be happy to have a friendly chat. Contact us at info@wendoverds.org.uk or call 07732 342409.
