Wendover Community Awards
This year Wendover Parish Council are doing things a little bit differently when it comes to the Community Awards. We want to hear from you! Residents are invited to nominate people who they feel deserve an award and the winners will be honoured at the Annual Parish Council Meeting on the 30th April 2020.
This year the categories will be Outstanding Young Person, Creative Arts, Lifetime Achievement, Sporting Achievement, Service with a Smile and Volunteer with a Smile. For more information or to place a nomination please follow the link https://www.wendover-pc.gov.uk/community-awards
Wendover Community Awards aim to recognise and celebrate people in our community who have made an outstanding contribution to the well being and community spirit of the village and the people who live here.
Volunteers may help organise local events, support Among Us neighbours, coach young people, raise money for good causes, or simply be there when someone needs a helping hand.
I like how Wendover Parish Council is giving residents a direct role in recognizing people who have made a positive contribution to the community. The range of awards, from Creative Arts and Sporting Achievement to volunteering and lifetime service, also shows how many different forms of contribution can be valued. That same spirit of creativity reminds me of Melon Playground, a physics sandbox game where I can create scenes, experiment with different elements, and explore new ideas.
