HS2 Ltd have advised that they will be introducing security and safety support vehicles as part of their plan to ensure that the public and those working on the project, as well as property and sites along the route, remain safe and secure.
These units will be available along the Phase One route to respond to incidents and will be on patrol 24/7. Their tasks might include responding to a security incident or checking to see if property or a piece of land is secure.
There will be three units in each of the three HS2 areas along the Phase One route. Each unit will have two staff from a contractor and a vehicle. They will have HS2 identification cards and high visibility clothing with HS2 branding whilst on patrol.
Should a resident wish to check if a vehicle in their community is representing HS2, they can call the 24/7 Freephone Community Helpline on 08081 434 434.
Recruitment for the jobs was undertaken locally in each area, with a high level interest in the roles. All of the new contractors have been trained on HS2 values and behaviors.
