MINUTES OF THE RECREATION GROUND COMMITTEE MEETING

held on 1 October 2007 at 9.20 pm in the Library Room

Present:- Chairman: Cllr Worth
Cllrs Mrs Ballantine, Mrs McKechnie, Mrs Gregory, Stevens, Wilkinson, Farmer, Lynch.

Member of the press.
Clerk: Fiona Lippmann

Cllrs Farmer and Stevens asked to join the Committee. This was agreed.

08/29 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Apologies were received from Cllr Dr. King

08/30 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
None

08/31 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
No members of the public were present.

08/32 MINUTES OF THE MEETING held on 21 August 2007
It was AGREED that the minutes were a true record and the Chairman signed them.

08/33 ASHBROOK REGENERATION
Proposals for the new toddler area were considered. It was agreed that the contract would be given to Sutcliffe Play.

An additional swing for the use of older children was also considered. It was agreed that this would be purchased at the same time which would enable savings on ground works and delivery.

08/34 MATTERS OF REPORT
a. Cllr Stevens reported that funding applications were ongoing.
b. Complaints had been received regarding the fishing swims on Hampden Pond.
It was confirmed that the undergrowth would be cut back during the winter months.
c. Cllr Mrs Gregory asked about the unused planter/seats that had agreed to be credited to the Parish Council. Cllr Worth confirmed that the logistics would be looked in to.
d. The precept meeting for Recreation Grounds would be held in the Clock Tower at 7.30 on 30 October.

There being no further business, the Chairman closed the meeting at 9.40 pm.
