MINUTES OF THE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT & TOURISM COMMITTEE MEETING

held in Wendover Library Room on 26 June 2007

08/16 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Apologies for absence were received from Cllr Mrs Gregory, Mr Stride and Miss Myers

08/17 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
None were declared.

08/18 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
No members of the public wished to speak

08/19 MINUTES OF THE MEETING held 30 May 2007
It was AGREED that the minutes were a true record, the Chairman then signed them.

08/20 THE CLOCK TOWER
The Clerk reported that work on the French drain for The Clock Tower was awaiting drawings and paperwork from the engineer. It was hoped that the work would be commenced shortly.

08/21 C.I.O.
A discussion took place regarding the possibility of Sunday opening. A vote was taken and a recommendation then passed that this subject would not be pursued.

08/22 MANOR WASTE

a. Bench
The decision about placing a bench outside Budgens was carried forward to the next
meeting pending more quotes.

b. Planting and tidying up
The maintenance of Manor Waste was queried and the matter referred to the Personnel
Committee.
c. The renovation of the walkways on the Manor Waste was discussed. Samples of slabs
and the specifications of slabs were looked at. Prices would be obtained.

It was agreed to ask the market traders not to drive onto the Manor Waste unless they
traded from their vehicles. These traders would be asked to change the location of
their current pitch, if necessary, to allow for minimum vehicular intrusion on the area.

d. It was confirmed that the RAF Bank had been booked to play for 'Carols around the Tree'
on Friday, 7 December.
e. The Council were still awaiting confirmation on who was leading the Chamber of Trade.
f. Christmas decorations along the High Street were discussed. It was agreed that as there
was no appointed co-ordinator with the Chamber of Trade, and concerns about Health
and Safety, the Parish Council were unable to order and dress trees for the traders. The
Clerk would advise the traders. It was agreed that the Parish Council would supply one
large, well lit tree on the Manor Waste.
Cllr Ballantine asked it to be recorded that she was against the proposal.

08/23 MATTERS OF REPORT

a) Cllr Mrs McKechnie thanked Mr Peter Stride for mending the damaged door to The Clock
Tower.
b) Cllr Mrs McKechnie thanked Mrs Green for watering the flowers on the Manor Waste.

08/24 CLOSURE OF MEETING

There being no further business to be transacted, the Chairman closed the meeting at 9.05 pm.
