Cllr Dr King, as Chair of the Parish Council opened the committee meeting.
08/01 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
None were received
08/02 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
None were declared
08/03 ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN
Cllr Wilkinson nominated Cllr Kirton as Chairman of the Lighting and Highways Committee. Cllr Kirton accepted the nomination. Cllr Mrs Gregory seconded the nomination and Cllr Kirton took the Chair.
08/04 ELECTION OF VICE CHAIRMAN
Cllr Mrs Ballantine nominated Cllr Mrs Gregory as Vice Chairman of the Lighting and Highways Committee. Cllr Mrs Gregory accepted the nomination. Cllr Dr King seconded the nomination.
08/05 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
No members of the public were present
08/06 MINUTES OF THE MEETING held on 21 November 2006
It was AGREED that the minutes were a true record and the Chairman signed them. Proposed by Cllr Mrs Ballantine, seconded by Cllr Mrs Gregory
08/07 HIGHWAYS
Following requests for two new grit bins, the Chairman asked the Clerk to write to Buckinghamshire County Council to clarify:-
a. the definition of their winter road/path maintenance
b. the regulations regarding grit spreading and working on the highway
08/08 LIGHTING
a. The proposal from E-on on energy prices was discussed and it was agreed to go with the 12 month contract, during which time discussions would be opened with neighbouring parishes to try and obtain a further discount.
b. The questionnaire send by BCC on Christmas Lighting requirements was consider. It was agreed to complete it, but enquire as to further costs that might be incurred and any other ramifications that might pertain to the Parish Council.
08/09 MATTERS OF REPORT
a) Cllr Mrs Ballantine asked about the light pollution trial on the roundabouts. The Clerk would look to obtain results and circulate them.
b) It was reported that the King and Queen Public House had an 'A' Board that was causing an obstruction on the pavement. The Clerk would write to the landlords and request that it be removed.
c) The Clerk was requested to send a letter to shops with 'A' boards reminding them of their legal responsibilities with regard to safety and pedestrians.

There being no further business, Chairman closed the meeting at 7.55.
