Minutes of the Lighting and Highways Committee Meeting

held on 20 November 2007
starting at 7.30 pm in Wendover Library Room


Present:- Cllr, Mrs Ballantine, Mrs Gregory, Wilkinson, McKechnie, Worth, Lynch
Clerk: Fiona Lippmann

Cllr Gregory, as Vice Chair of the Lighting and Highways Committee opened the meeting.

08/011 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
None were received

08/12 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
None were declared

08/13 ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN
Cllr Mrs Ballantine nominated Cllr Mrs Gregory as Chairman of the Lighting and Highways Committee. The committee agreed the nomination. Cllr Mrs Gregory accepted the nomination and took the Chair.

08/14 ELECTION OF VICE CHAIRMAN

Cllr Mrs Gregory nominated Cllr Farmer as Vice Chairman of the Lighting and Highways Committee. Cllr Farmer had indicated to the Clerk in a letter, that if nominated, he would accept. The nomination was agreed by those present

08/15 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
No members of the public were present

08/16 MINUTES OF THE MEETING held on 30 May 2007
Cllr Mrs Gregory believed that the date of the meeting was incorrect and made the
changes by hand in the minute book. It was agreed that the minutes were a true
record and the Chairman signed them. (At the time of writing the minutes the Clerk has
checked all documentation and agreed with the Chair that the original date was correct)

08/17 PRECEPT

The precept was discussed and it was agreed that it would be kept the same as the previous year.

08/18 MATTERS OF REPORT
a) Cllr Mrs Gregory asked whether letters had been written to the traders regarding 'A' Boards. The Clerk responded that she had discussed this with BCC as it was a Highways matter, not Parish Council, except where they were placed on the Manor Waste.
b) The bus shelter on Tring Road was looking shabby. The Clerk to get the Groundsman to give his opinion.

c) The grit bin at the end of Holland Close had a hole in it.
d) Cllr Mrs Gregory asked that the Clerk send a letter of thanks to Cllr McPartland for his work on the committee.
e) The Clerk was asked to report the roundabout at the end of the London Road as having a serious 'black spot'.
f) It was suggested that Wendover look at a local switch off of street lights to save energy. This was not agreed by other members of the committee.

08/19 CLOSURE OF MEETING
There being no further business, Chairman closed the meeting at 8.00
