I attended the John Colet School worked at Bucks Highways and Milton Keynes new city. I married Ann, a Wendover girl, lived in Aylesbury, moved back to Wendover in 1985. Our two girls were brought up in Wendover. My interests include local issues, writing, walking and I am a commercial yacht skipper and trainer. A Parish Councillor for 7yrs, I am currently the Chairman of the Parish Council and lead the HS2 working group.

TW acceptance of office 2017

Cllr David Haywood (Vice Chairman)

I have lived in Wendover for almost 30 years. Retiring from my role as a Dean at a major London University meant that I had time available to put something back into a community that has over the years given so much to me and my family. Becoming a Parish Councillor is an ideal way to help make small, but important, differences.  We do this through our own actions and also by getting our voice heard by other organisations – such as District and County Council and HS2 for example – that impact on our quality of life. As Deputy Chair I benefit from being able to attend each of the Council Committees and contributing by taking a share of their workload – which seems to increase monthly as more and more services are devolved to the Parish Council.

Ward Areas: Tring Road (Manor Rd to Old Tring Rd roundabout), Old Tring Road, Haddington Close, Warneford Avenue, Beechwood Lane, Tedder Road  and Halton Wood Road.

Cllr Jennifer Ballantine

I came to Wendover in 1964 as my husband joined the G.P. Practice.  We came with one child and had four more here in Wendover. Currently I am on the Staffing, Planning and Amenities Committees on the Parish Council.  I am also heavily involved as a Verger at St. Marys Church.  I also help at the Youth Centre, where I am a Trustee.  I am also on the Committee for Wendover Dementia Alliance. I am extremely interested in  tennis, but sadly no longer play but I do play table tennis, bridge and scrabble.  I love Wendover and being on the Parish Council is a good way of helping people.

Ward Areas: Witchell, South Street,  Chapel Lane, Church Lane, Hogtrough Lane  and Bacombe Lane.

Cllr Sheila Bulpett

I have been a Councillor since May 2015, now Chairman of the Finance Committee and the Wendover Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group. I have lived in Wendover since February 1985 when we moved back to be close to my husband’s family and the place of his childhood. We have four children, all attended local schools and activities so we have been involved with the community since then. After university I worked as a Research Chemist before starting the family. Later I completed a PGCE to become a secondary school science teacher in various local schools. After 19 years I retired to devote more time to family and interests which include art, music, gardening and Pilates. I am a member of U3A, Chiltern Society, BBOWT and the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Ward Areas: Castle Park Road, Walnut Drive, Water Meadow Way, Mercer’s Meadow and Lifre Drive.

Cllr Marion Clayton

I have lived in Wendover for nearly 40 years, never far from the centre of the village.  Most recently, I have served as a Parish Councillor for the past seven years, following 14 years as the County Councillor representing Wendover and Halton.  When the plans for HS2 were announced in 2010, I initiated the Wendover HS2 Action Group, and until last year was active in opposing HS2, at the same time supporting “Plan B”, to achieve the best mitigation for Wendover.  I am currently involved in the Lionel Abel-Smith Trust, Wendover Youth Centre, Action 4 Youth and Wendover Memorial Hall.

Ward Areas: Pound Street, Dobbins Lane (High St to Chiltern Road), Vinetrees, Mill Mead , The Pennings, Forest Close, Combe Avenue, Gables Close and Little Hampden Close.

Cllr Robert Duggan

I stand up for what I believe in. I‘m non-political which is vital for any member of a Parish Council. It makes it easier to listen to all points of view relating to local concerns and especially anything that preserves village life in Wendover that looks forwards and not backwards. I stand firmly against bullying in schools, the workplace, at home – indeed anywhere! Aside from being a Public Governor for SCAS, I’m also chair of the Rennie Grove fund raising group for Wendover and a Director of the Community Fundraising event called Wendover Celebrates. I’m an appointed Trustee of the Lionel Abel Smith Trust. I run my own toy making business called ‘Wendover Wood’. The Parish Council needs to be fair in all the business it conducts and the good work that has been undertaken by previous Parish Councils needs to be continued. I‘ve only one vested interest and that is Wendover.

Ward Areas: Aylesbury Road (Lifre Drive to High St), Chiltern Road, Vicarage Close, Chiltern Close, Russel Court, Victory Road and St Anne’s Close.

Cllr Roz Green

I have lived in my 15th century cottage in the centre of Wendover for the past 18 years and as an antiques dealer, it is very convenient as I work from Antiques At.. Wendover at the top of the High Street; early oak furniture and garden antiques being my favourite things. I joined the Parish Council in 2010 and have to say the last seven plus years have been interesting, however, the future looks somewhat unsettling with the prospect of HS2 and the closure of RAF Halton.

Ward Areas: Tring Road (High St to Manor Rd), Honey Banks, Colet Road, Hampden Road, Boddington Road, Woolerton Crescent  and Barlow Road.

Cllr Nicky Gregory

My connection with Wendover started in 1987 when, after considerable restoration, I opened the Antiques Centre at the Old Post Office. The 29th March 2018 was our 31st anniversary! Over the years it has developed with the Barn Courtyard, shops and tea shop giving added interest. I moved into and renovated a cottage in Back Street in 1988 and first joined the Parish Council in shortly after when John Firmin was Chairman and Jane Topliss our Clerk. I then left Council for a brief spell and re-joined in 2010. I am a member of the Wendover Chamber of Trade and Commerce Committee and act as representative for the Parish Council. There have been several changes to Wendover while I have lived here, the by-pass and re-development of the Manor Waste being two. We are now faced with HS2 and the closure of RAF Halton. We look ahead to a challenging future!

Ward Areas: High Street, Back Street, Great Lane, Holland Close, Chandos Place, Hale Road and Hale Lane.

I arrived in Wendover in 1980 to take up the post of Deputy Head of Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School. Retiring in 1997, I became of Chairman of Youth Focus, an organisation which looked after the interests of voluntary youth organisations in Bucks. I resigned in 2003, to become a carer to my wife. I have been on the Parish Council for two periods of three years during the last ten. At present, I chair the Staffing Committee and serve on Amenities and Planning Committees. My other interests include voluntary work for Waddesdon Manor and I co-chair the Older People’s Partnership for BCC.

I am a professional Projects and Programme Manager who works in Security in London.  I moved to Wendover with my wife in 2016 having fallen for the Chilterns and the small town feel of Wendover. I have experience in Business operations design, project leadership, IT and Communications. I enjoy travelling around the UK and Europe and can often be spotted walking the fields around Wendover with my dog. I have been a Councillor since September 2017 and I support the Community Engagement Working Group.

Cllr Karen Clare

My family and I moved to Wendover in 2009, as the first residents on the Princess Mary Gate development. I have two daughters who both attended the local schools and clubs and as a family we actively strive to support local businesses, where many also played a key part in our wedding preparations back in 2012. I am a working mum and following a 20 year’ media and advertising career in London, decided to set up my own business specialising in delivering face-to-face wealth management and financial planning advice as an Associate Partner aligned to St. James’s Place Wealth Management Plc. My passions include cycling, walking and skiing and spending quality time with good friends and family. My ambition as a Councillor is to be a considered voice of community, enabling positive changes for the benefit everyone in Wendover. I joined the Council in June 2018.
