The Chairman, Cllr Wilkinson, welcomed the members and public.
09/01 ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN
There were no nominations for Chair. Cllr Farmer offered to take the chair for this meeting only.
Cllr Wilkinson then tendered his retirement from the Council. Cllr Farmer expressed thanks on
behalf of the Council and Wendover for all the work he had put in over the 11 years. He left the
chamber to applause in appreciation from the members and public.
09/02 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Apologies were received from Cllr Stevens and Bowles
09/03 ELECTION OF VICE CHAIR
Cllr Mrs McKechnie was proposed as Vice Chair, she accepted the nomination. The
nomination was then seconded.
Cllr Gregory was proposed, she received no seconder.
The Chair called for a vote of approval for Cllr Mrs McKechnie to be appointed Vice Chair
this was agreed.
09/04 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
There were no declarations of interest
09/05 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
The Chairman adjourned the meeting to allow members of the public to speak.
Cllr Norman Weston took this opportunity to read out his resignation letter, citing the continuous in-fighting of the councillors as his reasons. He then left the chamber.
County Councillor Marion Clayton delivered a diatribe on her impression of the current Parish Council, during which she implied financial irregularities. The Chair asked her to elaborate on her accusations, which she refused to do. She asked for a meeting with the Clerk and Chair.
Cllr Farmer asked Cllr Mrs Clayton for her assistance in getting a pedestrian crossing placed along the London Road. She agreed to consult with her Highways Engineer about this possibility and also the extension of the footpath.
A member of the public asked that the minutes be put on the notice boards more regularly. (He later sent his apologies as they were already posted since 11 April).
A member of the public commented about the way in which members turned up to give an opinion on planning issues, having taken no time to inspect the sites, or the plans.
The Chairman then reconvened the meeting.
09/06 COUNTY COUNCILLOR'S REPORT
Cllr Mrs Clayton had nothing further to add
09/07 DISTRICT COUNCILLOR'S REPORT
Cllr Birchley had nothing to report
09/08 MINUTES OF THE MEETING held 7 April 2008
The minutes of the meeting held 7 April 2008 were presented.
Cllr Gregory asked why item 08/229 was not carried forward to the May meeting. The Clerk apologised. It was agreed that the Councillors would discuss her concerns after the Annual
Parish Council Meeting. It was agreed that the minutes were a true record of the meeting and they were signed by the Chair. Cllr Mrs Gregory asked that the Clerk present more information under Public Participation for reference.
09/09 MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL PARISH MEETING
The minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting were presented and agreed. The Chair duly signed
them.
09/10 PLANNING COMMITTEE
Cllr Ballantine presented the minutes of the Planning Committee meeting of 9 April 2008, on behalf of Cllr Bowles.
09/11 PERSONNEL COMMITTEE
Cllr McKechnie presented the minutes of the Personnel Committee meeting of 30 April 2008.
It was agreed that the minutia would be discussed at a closed session after the meeting.
09/12 STANDING ORDERS AND TERMS OF REFERENCE
The Council agreed the Standing Orders and Terms of Reference. The proposed amendments
would be discussed at the June Parish Council meeting.
09/13 FINANCE
The RFO presented the Year End figures for 2007/8, the Ear Marked Reserves and the monthly
list of receipts and payments. These were agreed.
09/14 APPOINTMENT OF COMMITTEES
Recreation Grounds: Cllrs Worth, Mrs Ballantine, Mrs Gregory
Planning: Cllrs Bowles, Mrs Ballantine, Mrs Gregory
Property Management and Tourism: Cllrs Mrs McKechnie, Mrs Ballantine, Mrs Gregory
Lighting & Highways: This committee was non-quorate. Lighting and Highway matters would
now be considered at Parish Council meetings.

09/16 PLANNING APPLICATIONS
The following planning applications were considered and responses made:-
07/03515/AOP Demolition of existing house and outbuildings and construction of 6 no.
detached dwellings and garages including alterationss to existing access; The Hollies, Nash Lee Lane
The Parish Council objected to this application on the grounds of
overdevelopment in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Green belt,
along with increased traffic.
08/00982/APP Demolition of existing dwelling and erection of one replacement detached
two storey dwelling and alterations to existing access; 35 Aylesbury Road
the Parish Council had no objections subject to there being satisfactory
access available.
08/01047/ATC Fell one sycamore; The Grange Coach House, Aylesbury Road
08/01109/ATP The Parish Council deferred to the opinion of the District Arboriculturalist
08/1049/ALB Replacement of exterior double doors to rear and removal of 45cm width of brick infill either side to be replaced with glass panels to match;
24 South Street. The Parish Council had no objections.
08/01040/APP Rear Conservatory; Catkins, Nash Lee Lane
The Parish Council had no objections

The Clerk presented her reports..
09/18 MATTERS OF REPORT
Cllr Mrs Gregory discussed suggestions on the new format of the newsletter.
Cllr Mrs Ballantine remarked on how well the Recreation Grounds were looking.
Cllr Farmer asked the Clerk about honours the Parish Council could give to the RAF.

Planning Committee Meeting - 20 May 2008 - 7.30 pm in the Library Rooms
Recreation Grounds Meeting - 20 May 2008 - 8 pm (or after the Planning Committee meeting)
Parish Council Meeting - 2 June 2008 - 7.45 pm in the Memorial Hall

There being no further business to be transacted, the Chairman closed the meeting at 8.45 pm.
